Time

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 ESV For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

What do you think about Daylight Savings Time (DST)? I hope you are not losing any sleep over it.

An old Indian, it is said, remarked that only a white man would cut the top off a blanket and sew it on the bottom, expecting to make it longer.

Benjamin Franklin published the proverb “early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise”. Some of us, clearly, have not had enough sleep.

Teddy Roosevelt inaugurated Daylight Savings Time  to provide the farmers more time in the fields with which to produce food during the summer months. Did the veggies grow faster?  The potatoes deeper?

President Woodrow Wilson, an avid golfer, vetoed its repeal twice in order to have more time on the greens. A valiant effort, it ended up in the rough both times.

But the Lord has made it very clear that He alone controls our hours and days; that He guides the sun  and the stars across the heavens, and lays out their paths  and purposes. What He has created we have been unable to change for ages. We just cut the top off the blanket and rename it.

I’m  glad we have, (had), a President who is not a politician, but rather a business man who can actually function in the real world. Maye he can fix this for us in his next term. If he’s given a few more seasons.           Lets put aside politicians, Indians, farmers and golfers, and return to Gods Word. It always works… In His time.
