What Can Change us?

      changeI preached in a cold, disconnected church several weeks ago, and, far as we know, nothing changed. No lives were saved, the altar was empty, and no praises were offered. I don’t have the power to bring change.

          Out in California two more police officers were shot and killed. On purpose, it seems. Anger and violence are increasing in the land of the free. The government is helpless to change it.

          All across America our morals are falling apart. One in three girls in America becomes pregnant before the age of eighteen; 81 percent are unmarried. The fix, we are told, is to teach them how to have ‘safe sex’. Sin is sin and man needs no instructions about how to go about it. Nothing ever changes.

             28,000 Americans access pornography every second. That is nothing new. The only thing that has changed is that the color is better and the pages more explicit. Some thing’s only change for the worse.

          A friend called Sunday morning and asked for prayer for a lost friend who had suffered a massive heart attack. I gave it to a group of prayer warriors, and fell to my knees.

       An hour ago the phone rang and the news was good! The lost mans heart had not only survived the attack in better shape than could be imagined, but owner of the lost and damaged organ had given his old heart to Christ and received a new one in exchange. The life that seemed at its darkest point was changed forever, thanks to the prayers of a few strangers and the love of a friend.

          We can make a difference! We can see thru the darkness. We can turn our hearts towards Him and be changed. Changed forever.

ACTS 3:19 BBE  So then, let your hearts be changed and be turned to God, so that your sins may be completely taken away, and times of blessing may come from the Lord;
