Labor Day 2015.

The summer is over, and Kim Davis is in jail …  for standing up..

The summer is over and Darren Goforth is gone – shot 15 times, for standing by.

The summer is over and America is but a mere reflection of what she was in the spring. The summer is over and we are not saved.

Saved? Saved from what? Homophobic bigots? No.

From over zealous cops? No.

From ever eroding moral values? Not so much.

From ourselves? Kinda.

Saved. What are we not saved from?   In a word: sin.

That which is destroying us is that which we celebrate and that is what we are not saved from. Sin.

As a nation we were called to greatness in the springtime, and we have settled for mediocrity in the fall.

As a people we have been called to righteousness, and we have settled for sin. And the fall has come upon us.

America can be great again, when she turns off the voices of despair and returns to the God who cares. Pray for America.
