        Memorial Day 2017

If one reads thru the Book of 2 Samuel a hidden truth is revealed. We can watch as David and his followers sacrificed and gave  all their energy towards building a great nation. To them it was real.

Solomon, however, great as he was, only  had a second hand knowledge of what his father had done, and he compromised his faith.

Rehoboam, and the third generation, neither saw nor heard what had been done before them. It just wasn’t relevant to that generation. And he turned his back upon the  Lord, leading to Israel’s downfall.

As we watch the WWII vets pass away, one by one, we only hear of what they sacrificed, and, while we are moved by it, we are  not committed. And our lack of commitment reflects upon our children who see no relevance in those sacrifices, and they have sold out to the godless pleasures  of the times.

America, read carefully those stories, and re-enforce them; walk in the old ways and repeat the old messages. And, above all, lift up the God who has stood by us up  to this point.

2 Chron 12:1  But when Rehoboam was firmly established and strong, he abandoned the Law of the Lord, and all Israel followed him in this sin.
