Ex 1:8 Now a new king came to power in Egypt, who had no knowledge of Joseph.
It occurred to me, as I tried to understand the Super Bowl commercials Sunday, that the generation behind me had nothing solid with which to communicate. Those commercials were mostly grounded in nothing, and delivered a mish mash message of politics and masked meanings. No direction. No clear purpose. Just noise posing as music and flashing pictures that could only be joined by stretching the imagination to the limit. Truly, after all these years, it seems, I have lost touch at last.
A new generation is behind us that has no memory of the horrible reality of 911, one that has only read of Vietnam in some politically correct history book, and, only sees the ‘Greatest Generation’ as a group of quickly disappearing old men. ‘The New Deal’, The Great Depression’, and the holocaust may not even be considered as truth to these young minds full of music and madness. All that is current and relevant today is hatred for the POTUS, Lady Gaga, and information gathered from i-phones and social media.
There is so much I need to tell them. So much they need to understand if they are going to propel America forward. They must be shown history, geography, morals and respect before it is too late. The messages are so basic, yet so huge, and so important that there is neither time nor life within me to begin. Where do I start? What message is most important. Where to begin?
Begin with Jesus, my heart tells me. Tell them about His awesome sacrifice, His unending love, and His timeless advice. Tell them about Jesus. Tell them about Jesus. Tell them, before it is too late.
