Our local Wal-Mart store has done a complete re-model. Bakery and other areas have been removed, new and higher shelves installed, aisles made smaller, and all merchandise has been shuffled like a deck of cards. It is confusing to say the least.
About half way thru our first visit after the re-do, my wife thru up her hands and said, “I am lost. Nothing is like it should be, and I feel very weird.”
Then, just a few moments later, a lady came round the corner from the next aisle, and she said, “ I fell weird in this place. Nothing is as it once was.”
And I thought to myself, “This must be some sort of a sign, for here are two weird ladies in the pasta aisle looking for coffee.”
With the election upon us, and our country as confused as it has ever been, I feel much like those two shoppers: ‘This is not the way it is supposed to be. Nothing is as it once was, and I feel confused and, well, weird.”
Do you?
Morality has been moved, I can’t find it anymore. Clearly defined lines no longer exist, and those who call evil good have come to guard the hen house. It is truly a scary time and place.
But get thru it we did, we loaded our groceries, and headed back to the compound, where we felt safe once again. At home we knew where everything was, how it all worked, and what its purposes were. Home is not weird, whose ever it is.
And living at home in our hearts is the one who has promised to care for us and keep us safe if things ever got this way. He is still there..
‘We do not know what tomorrow holds,’ as it has been said, ‘but we know who holds tomorrow’. And that is good.
Isaiah 41:10 NKJV
Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
