Traveling Far

                   spiritual Power

Many a Monday morning would find me at the airport, climbing on another plane for some far off place on company business. I never enjoyed leaving the family. Ever. But some things can only be done alone. The assignment is for you alone, and the challenge is all yours.

In the same manner, forgiveness and prayer are far off destinations that must be reached alone.. They are the next flight upward in the Christian journey.. Many will not go on the journey beyond this point. Some can’t, some choose not to.

“In the morning, walking along the road, they saw the fig tree, shriveled to a dry stick. Peter, remembering what had happened the previous day, said to him, “Rabbi, look – the fig tree you cursed is shriveled up!”.

Jesus was matter of fact: “Embrace this God-life. Really embrace it, and nothing will be too much for you. This mountain, for instance: Just say ‘Go jump in the lake’ –no shilly-shallying or shuffling- and It’s as good as done. That’s why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get Gods every-thing. And when you assume the posture of prayer, remember that it’s not all asking. If you have anything against someone, forgive them –only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins” Mark 11:20f . The Message

The two hardest Christian concepts to grasp are these: the awesome reality of the power of prayer, and the life-altering truth of forgiveness. Here the Master wrapped them up in a neat bundle and laid them at the feet of the believer. They can not be unwrapped separately, they are joined at the heart forever. Learn them, and learn them well, and your life will take on a new power and freedom that the world can never understand.
