Keep Calm and Pray

Keep Calm Carry On

Luk 11:1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

“Keep calm and _________.”    Fill in the blank. “Stay calm and carry on” has been suggested. In fact, it was the original format. Offered up toady are: keep calm and eat a cookie, keep calm and be cool, be awesome, use the force, and know I love you for a few. May I suggest one more?

“Keep clam and pray.”

The original, “Keep calm and carry on,” was put forth as a motivational poster in England during the darkest hours of the 2nd world War. It was soon forgotten and has just now been resurrected, and as rapidly altered, to fit today’s haphazard lifestyle.

“Keep clam and pray,” could not be more appropriate to a nation under fire.

Our government has forbidden prayer. Our schools no longer allow prayer. Our churches play at prayer. And our people stray from prayer. No wonder we are in the shape we are in.

Pray, sister, pray. Cry out brother, cry out. Stand up saint, and call unto the lord. “Teach us to pray”, should be our ever present cry.   “Keep Calm and Pray” should be our motto.
