Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
Southeastern Oklahoma is a world apart. Standing along the bank of a river and looking upstream a person could easily imagine they were self stepping back into history a hundred or more years. The cliffs rise up to meet the soaring eagles, while beaver and raccoon frolic along the waterways. The minds eye can easily see a young Caddo Indian brave rounding the bend in his canoe.

Have you ever wished yourself at a different point in history? Maybe in old Dodge City or possibly in King Arthur’s court. How about a few days with the Vikings, or walking with the Disciples in that first century?
But it is not to be. Our plight has been to a world of computers, planes, and crowds of isolation. Destiny has placed us in a time of speed and deadlines, in a place where friendships are used and not treasured. Time here is measured in microseconds rather than moons
Maybe it is not the world we would have chosen, nor the time nor the place. Although it is not the station we are pleased with, it is the one we are comfortable with, and one in which we can function comfortably. Is it possible there was a plan behind our being here at this time and place?
Certainly God placed each of us at the point in history where we needed to be to carry out His plan, and we each have been given a special task to do here and now. It is no accident that you and I are here together. We have something to do that nobody else can do, and there is no other time for it to be done than right now. Guess it’s time to quit daydreaming and get to work.
The future is not around the next corner, and it’s not in a birch bark canoe. It’s right before our eyes. Can you see it?
