Stop Praying

In the aftermath of yesterdays carnage in San Bernardino, The ‘New York Daily News’ published the giant headline, “GOD ISN’T FIXING THIS” and the subhead, “As latest batch of innocent Americans are left lying in pools of blood, cowards who could truly end gun scourge continue to hide behind meaningless platitudes.” The ‘Nation’ and ‘Huffington Post’ made similar allegations. The ‘Atlantic’ blasted those who would pray as ‘shameless’.

Why wasn’t God there to help? Maybe its because we asked Him to leave sometime back, and not come back.

Why are we losing the war to ISIS and the extremists? Maybe it’s because we are fighting a spiritual battle with human bullets. Why, we won’ even allow our military chaplains to bring Christ to the front of the battle lines.

Why are we as a nation seemingly coming unraveled at the seams? Could it be that we have cut the thread that bound us together; the thread that began our journey at Plymouth Rock as we caem to these shores searching out the freedom to pray and worship?

“Where are you God” the people cry,” and the answer is a resounding, “Right where you left me. Outside.”

God could fix this. God alone can fix this. God desires to fix this. He merely awaits a call. He can be reached at 2 Chron 7:14. But that, we are being told, would be shameless.
